The Spiny Boxfish, Chilomycterus schoepfii, is a small to medium-sized marine fish known for its boxy shape and sharp spines covering its body. It requires a minimum tank size of 100 gallons, with salinity 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–82°F (24–28°C). Omnivorous, it feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, and clams, as well as some algae-based diets. Spiny Boxfish are generally peaceful but can release toxins when stressed, so they should be housed with non-aggressive tankmates and kept in a stable environment.
