The Midas Blenny is a vibrant, small reef blenny native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found perching on live rock and coral crevices in shallow lagoons and reef slopes. A minimum tank size of 30–50 gallons is recommended with plenty of rockwork and hiding spaces to support their natural territorial behavior. Ideal water parameters are 72–78°F, salinity 1.020–1.025, and pH 8.1–8.4 with stable, high-quality conditions. Midas Blennies are omnivorous, feeding on algae, small crustaceans, and detritus, and should be offered a varied diet including spirulina-based foods, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped marine fare. They are peaceful, reef-safe, and hardy, making them suitable for beginner to intermediate aquarists.
