The Freckled Hawkfish, Paracirrhites forsteri, is a small to medium-sized marine fish known for its robust body, pale base color with dark freckled markings, and habit of perching on rockwork and corals. It requires a minimum tank size of 50 gallons, with salinity 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–82°F (24–28°C). Carnivorous, it feeds on meaty foods such as small shrimp, crustaceans, and marine pellets. Freckled Hawkfish are semi-aggressive and territorial, often staking out perches within the aquarium. This is a Moderate species, suitable for aquarists with some saltwater experience.
