(SPECIAL ORDER) Emperor Snapper
The Emperor Snapper, Lutjanus sebae, is a large, robust marine predator known for its striking red and white striped coloration and bold presence in the aquarium. It requires a minimum tank size of 250 gallons, with salinity 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–80°F (24–27°C). Carnivorous by nature, it feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, fish, and other seafood. This species is hardy and adaptable, though it should be housed with other large, robust tankmates in a predator setup. The Emperor Snapper requires ample swimming space and strong filtration to accommodate its size and activity. This is a Moderate species, suitable for aquarists with some saltwater experience.
