(SPECIAL ORDER) Crosshatch trigger
The Crosshatch Triggerfish, Xanthichthys mento, is a colorful and moderately sized marine fish known for its intricate crosshatch pattern and striking coloration, particularly prominent in males. It requires a minimum tank size of 125 gallons, with salinity 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–80°F (24–27°C). Omnivorous and generally peaceful, it feeds on a mix of meaty foods like shrimp, squid, and fish, as well as high-quality marine pellets or frozen preparations. This species is less aggressive than many other triggerfish and can be kept with other medium to large, non-aggressive tankmates. The Crosshatch Triggerfish benefits from plenty of rockwork for shelter and territory, along with open swimming space and strong filtration. This is a Moderate species, suitable for aquarists with some saltwater experience.
