The Blue Spot Round Ray, Urobatis pardalis, is a small, striking ray known for its round body and bright blue spots on a sandy brown background. It requires a minimum tank size of 150 gallons, with salinity adjusted for marine conditions, pH 7.8–8.2, and temperature 72–78°F (22–26°C). Carnivorous, it feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, small fish, and worms. The Blue Spot Round Ray should be housed with similarly sized or larger tankmates to reduce stress and requires a soft sandy substrate to protect its delicate underside, along with ample open swimming space. This is an EXPERT-ONLY species, and due to its specialized care requirements, it is exempt from any guarantees.
