(SPECIAL ORDER) Aiptasia Eating Filefish

The Aiptasia-eating Filefish, Acreichthys tomentosus, is a small, peaceful marine fish that specializes in controlling pest anemones like Aiptasia. It requires a minimum tank size of 30–50 gallons, with salinity of 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–80°F (24–27°C). Omnivorous by nature, it will actively graze on Aiptasia but also accepts prepared foods such as finely chopped shrimp or fish, and algae-based diets. Best kept with peaceful tankmates, this species avoids aggressive or predatory fish. This is a Moderate species, hardy for aquarists with some experience, but care should be taken to ensure it has enough food sources and a stable, established tank.
