The Blueface Angelfish is a large, striking marine angelfish native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found along coral reef slopes and lagoons. Due to its adult size and active nature, a minimum tank size of 180–220 gallons is recommended. Ideal water conditions are 72–78°F, salinity 1.020–1.025, and pH 8.1–8.4 with stable, high-quality filtration. Blueface angels are omnivorous, naturally feeding on sponges, tunicates, algae, and small invertebrates, and should be offered a varied diet including marine angelfish sponge formulas, mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, and marine algae. Juveniles display vibrant blue and white curved lines, while adults develop the distinctive yellow mask and blue facial pattern the species is known for. They are semi-aggressive, especially toward other angelfish, and thrive in spacious aquariums with abundant live rock for grazing and shelter.
