Adult Africunus Angelfishn/a

(SPECIAL ORDER ONLY) The Africanus Angelfish is a large, striking marine angelfish from the family Pomacanthidae found along the West African Atlantic coast, where it inhabits rocky reefs and coastal waters. This species can grow to about 16 inches (40 cm) and therefore requires a minimum aquarium of around 180–220 gallons, with larger systems preferred for long-term care due to its active swimming behavior. Like many large angelfish, it benefits from aquariums with extensive live rock structures for grazing and shelter, strong filtration, and stable marine conditions near 76–80°F with salinity around 1.023–1.025. The Africanus angelfish is considered semi-aggressive and is best kept with other robust fish such as tangs, large wrasses, or triggers, while it may show territorial behavior toward other angelfish. In captivity it thrives on a varied diet including sponge-based angelfish foods, marine algae, and meaty frozen items, and it is typically kept in fish-only or fish-only-with-live-rock aquariums, as it may nip at corals and some invertebrates.
