(SPECIAL ORDER) African Coris Wrasse
The African Coris Wrasse is a large, active wrasse native to the Indo-Pacific region, including the Red Sea and East Africa, commonly found along sandy reef flats and lagoons. Due to its size and burrowing behavior, a minimum tank size of 125–180 gallons is recommended, with a deep sand bed for resting and hiding. Water parameters should be 72–78°F, salinity 1.020–1.025, and pH 8.1–8.4, with stable conditions and moderate flow. African Coris are carnivorous, feeding on crustaceans, mollusks, worms, and other meaty foods, and should be offered a varied diet of mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, and frozen crustaceans. They are semi-aggressive, may rearrange tank décor while digging, and are generally compatible with other robust reef species when plenty of hiding spaces are provided.
