The Sunrise Basslet is a vibrant and small basslet native to the Caribbean Sea, typically inhabiting deep reef ledges, caves, and crevices where it finds shelter and avoids predators. A minimum tank size of 50–75 gallons is recommended with plenty of live rock and hiding spaces to mimic its natural habitat. Ideal water parameters are 72–78°F, salinity 1.020–1.025, and pH 8.1–8.4, with stable, high-quality conditions. Sunrise Basslets are carnivorous, feeding on small crustaceans, zooplankton, and marine worms, and should be offered frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped marine foods. They are peaceful, reef-safe, and shy, thriving best in mature aquariums with plenty of rockwork for shelter and calm tankmates.
