The Pascalus Anthias is a deepwater planktivorous reef fish native to the Indo-Pacific, most commonly found along outer reef slopes and drop-offs where currents bring abundant plankton. A minimum tank size of 70–120 gallons is recommended, especially when keeping groups, as they naturally form small harems with one dominant male and several females. Ideal water parameters are 72–78°F, salinity 1.020–1.025, and pH 8.1–8.4 with strong water movement and stable, well-maintained conditions. Pascalus Anthias feed primarily on zooplankton and small crustaceans, and should be offered frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, copepods, brine shrimp, and finely chopped marine foods throughout the day. Due to their deepwater origin, sensitivity to transport stress, and demanding feeding requirements, this species is considered Expert Only and is exempt from livestock health guarantees.
