The Flame Filefish, Acreichthys radiatus, is a small, brightly colored marine fish with striking orange-red markings that make it a standout in a reef tank. It requires a minimum tank size of 30–50 gallons, with salinity of 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–80°F (24–27°C). Omnivorous and peaceful, it actively grazes on Aiptasia and other pest anemones, and will also accept prepared foods such as finely chopped shrimp, fish, or algae-based diets. Best kept with peaceful tankmates, it should not be housed with aggressive or large predatory fish. This is a Moderate species, hardy for aquarists with some experience, though care should be taken to maintain a stable tank and ensure adequate food.
