The Coral Catshark, Atelomycterus marmoratus, is a small, slender shark species prized for its unique spotted pattern and manageable size in home aquariums. It requires a minimum tank size of 180 gallons, with salinity 1.023–1.025, pH 8.1–8.4, and temperature 75–80°F (24–27°C). Carnivorous by nature, it feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, small fish, and marine worms. Coral Catsharks are generally peaceful but are best kept with other larger, non-aggressive tankmates to prevent stress, and they require a soft sandy substrate to protect their sensitive underbelly. This is an EXPERT-ONLY species, and due to its specialized care requirements, delicate nature, and sensitivity to water quality, it is exempt from any guarantees.
