(SPECIAL ORDER) California Round Ray (EXPERT ONLY)

The California Round Ray, Urobatis halleri, is a small, hardy ray with a round body shape and calm temperament, but it requires careful husbandry to thrive in captivity. It needs a minimum tank size of 150 gallons, with salinity adjusted for marine conditions, pH 7.8–8.2, and temperature 72–78°F (22–26°C). Carnivorous, it feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, small fish, and worms. This species should be housed with similarly sized or larger tankmates to reduce stress and requires a soft sandy substrate to protect its delicate underside, along with ample open swimming space. This is an EXPERT-ONLY species, and due to its specialized care requirements, it is exempt from any guarantees.
